We Are Working with Forever Manchester: Part 1

  • We Are Working with Forever Manchester: Part 1 - Picture 1

Forever Manchester, the community foundation for Greater Manchester, is one of Manchester Arena's main charity partners for our 20th anniversary year. We'll be working with them throughout 2015, supporting their work through donations and fundraising, and providing some special experiences for the people they work with.

Recently we were able to give the Forever Manchester team some tickets to one of our shows. These were shared out amongst some of the groups they help and everyone who came had an absolute ball!

Some of the tickets were awarded in specially arranged school assemblies to the pupils with the most improved behaviour since Forever Manchester's Cool 2 B Kind programme ended – schools included Alt Primary School and Stoneleigh Academy in Oldham.

Others were given to community groups across Greater Manchester, including the Heroes project which encourages young people and children with Autism to sing. The tickets were presented to celebrate their involvement in their communities and reward them.

Forever Manchester told us that one lady from Oldham was over the moon to receive a ticket. Her husband sadly passed away on Christmas Eve and the concert was the first time she’d gone out on a night out since. She was even pleased to use the new tram service for the first time with her over 65 transport pass too!
